Nutritional Services

Additionally, we provide therapeutic diets for those individuals requiring special foods. We have “Resident’s Choice” meals, barbecues, and cookouts on the grounds.

Our foods and nutrition service is directed by a Certified Dietary Manager under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian, licensed by the state of Mississippi and both have ServeSafe Food Protection Manager Certification. We pride ourselves on serving meals and snacks that are nutritious, appetizing and delicious. All our menus are planned and approved by our dietitian and prepared in-house by our skilled staff. Our staff individually tailors and prepares meals to honor a resident’s special requests, interests and needs.

All of our residents are encouraged to enjoy their meals in our beautiful dining room, but they have the option of eating in their room or “having breakfast in bed”. If someone needs assistance at meals, our staff is there to help in any way.

Something special we do at Greenbriar is providing a resident the choice of eating from our buffet that includes the regular menu items but additionally it always has a salad bar and a variety homemade items on the dessert cart. Other items that are included on the buffet have been requested by our residents- yogurt, cottage cheese, cold cuts and a variety of breads. Before retiring for the night, a resident may choose from the variety of bedtime snacks and beverages that are available.

Each resident has the option of eating the regular meal or may choose one of the alternative choices provided at each meal.
