Applying for Long-Term Care Medicaid

It’s important to note that traditional insurance does not cover Long-Term Care. Families may choose to pay privately for this level of care, or we can assist you with applying for Long-Term Care Medicaid Coverage.

To qualify for LTC Medicaid in Mississippi, a resident will typically need to earn less than $4000 a month from retirement and/or Social Security and have less than $4000 in available savings or checking accounts. In some cases, allowances are made for residents who have a spouse living in the community.

Residents who qualify for Medicaid will pay the facility a monthly amount, known as Patient Liability. This amount is based on monthly income and is determined by Medicaid.

The application process for Long-Term Care Medicaid can take up to 90 days. For additional information about applying for LTC Medicaid, please contact our business office.

Emergency Preparedness

Coastal Mississippi is no stranger to inclement weather. We are always prepared for the unexpected. Our entire facility is powered by two backup generators. These generators can run for several days before needing to be refueled.

In addition, we keep non-perishable food and water on hand. If our area is expected to feel the effects of a hurricane or other natural disaster, we order additional supplies ahead of time to be prepared.

Here are some important safety procedures to note:

  • In the event of a facility-wide emergency, we will communicate with families via Cliniconnex. This service sends updates to the Responsible Party of each resident through their preferred method -text, phone call, or email.
  • Our primary goal is to Shelter-in-Place for all emergencies. If it is not safe to do so, we have procedures in place to ensure the safety of our residents. We have arrangements in place with other facilities and transportation services to ensure our residents have a safe place to go.
  • In some cases, our facility may need to be placed into a lockdown status. In this instance, no one will be allowed to enter or exit the facility. Lockdowns may occur for many reasons, such as hazardous chemicals, weather-related events, or police action outside the building. In the event of a lockdown, please remain calm and follow any instructions from management staff and emergency personnel.
